Hydraulic Elevators

Hydraulic elevators are elevators which are powered by a piston that travels inside a cylinder. An electric motor pumps oil into the cylinder to move the piston. The piston smoothly lifts the elevator cab. Electrical valves control the release of the oil for a gentle descent.

For such elevators the machine room may be on any floor level or outside the building. The benefits of using a hydraulic elevator are smooth operation, quiet operation, and easy emergency lowering. The hydraulic elevator is nearly silent in the down direction as the pump is not running. In the up direction, the pump is running in a separate machine room, reducing the noise. If the elevator has stopped between levels for any reason, it is easy to manually lower it. Every hydraulic elevator has an emergency lowering valve. By pressing and holding a button (in the machine room), the elevator will slowly lower to floor level.

Hydraulic Elevators are used extensively for buildings that have less than four floors. We take great pride in telling that Professional Elevators is equipped with the technology to install hydraulic lifts for buildings which have up to eight floors. We are also one among the few companies in the world to install high speed hydraulic lifts that has a travelling speed of 1m/sec. Hydraulic Elevators can be used for any type of elevator purpose ranging from passenger lifts to goods lifts.
